A two-step snapshot architecture: Step 1 uses the L1 band for coarse snapshot positioning to refine the position and time uncertainty; Step 2 uses that estimate to narrow the L5 acquisition search range for low-power, high-sensitivity L5 positioning.

Key idea. The two-step approach leverages the L1 band signal to perform coarse snapshot positioning, thereby refining the position estimate and time uncertainty to narrow the L5 band signal’s acquisition search range.
