Dr. Li-Ta Hsu received PolyU’s President’s Award for Outstanding Achievement in Knowledge Transfer for 3D Mapping Aided GNSS for Effective Positioning and Navigation in Urban Areas. The official PolyU KTEO award page lists the work under the Industry I Award: Individual category and identifies Dr. Hsu as the awardee.

The award recognizes the lab’s 3D mapping-aided GNSS technology for positioning in dense urban areas such as Hong Kong and Tokyo. The work connects long-running urban GNSS research with practical knowledge transfer: using 3D city information to improve satellite positioning where buildings cause severe signal blockage, reflection, and non-line-of-sight reception.

PolyU later featured the recognition in its President’s Awards knowledge-transfer showcase, and the associated PolyU video presents the work as an urban-positioning impact story for navigation in city environments.
